How to install OSM PLAYER on an LG TV

LG Smart TVs run webOS and install apps from the LG Content Store, called Apps on recent models. OSM PLAYER is published there, so you need no USB stick and no developer mode.

  1. 1

    Open the LG Content Store

Press the Home button on the remote and open LG Content Store or Apps.

  2. 2

    Search for OSM PLAYER

Use the search at the top, type “OSM PLAYER” and open the app.

  3. 3

    Install and launch

Select Install, then Launch. OSM PLAYER shows your MAC address, device key and a QR code, and your free trial starts.

Add your playlist in a minute

Scan the QR code on the TV with your phone: you land on your TV's page, signed in. Or open Manage playlist in any browser and enter the MAC address and device key from the TV.

Pick Xtream Codes and enter the server URL, username and password, or pick M3U and paste the link. If you paste a get.php link, OSM PLAYER recognises Xtream Codes inside it and saves it that way, so you get films, series and the TV guide too. Save, then press Refresh on the TV.

Made for the Magic Remote

On LG TVs, OSM PLAYER follows the Magic Remote's pointer: point at a channel to select it, click to play, and scroll with the wheel through long channel lists and rows of films. With a standard LG remote, every screen works with the arrows and OK, so nothing needs a pointer.

  • Live TV with categories and the guide: what's on now and next on every channel.
  • Films and series with posters, ratings, seasons and episodes from your Xtream Codes provider.
  • Instant zapping from one channel to the next.
  • An interface in English, or fully right-to-left in Arabic.

Which LG TVs work?

LG's OLED, QNED, NanoCell and UHD Smart TVs all run webOS. If OSM PLAYER appears in your TV's store, it runs on your TV. If you can't find it, tell us your model on the contact page. You can also plug an Android TV box or a Fire TV Stick into an HDMI port and use OSM PLAYER there.

Free trial, then one activation per TV

Your LG TV gets 7 days to try every feature with your own playlist. After that, your playlists stay saved and playback waits for activation.

Activate the TV for a year or for life on the activation page with its MAC address, by card, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal or an activation code. Nothing renews automatically. Press Refresh and keep watching.

If something doesn't play

  • Open your playlist here and press Test connection: it shows whether the server answers and when your account expires.
  • Press Refresh in OSM PLAYER after every change you make on this site.
  • Prefer a cable or a strong Wi‑Fi signal for live channels.
  • OSM PLAYER plays what your provider sends: missing channels or a stream that keeps buffering are for your provider to fix.
