What is the MAC address in an IPTV player?
In OSM PLAYER, the MAC address is the identifier the app gives your device. It's written like a network MAC address, six pairs of letters and numbers such as 4E:A1:7C:09:B2:5F, and it belongs to that device alone. It isn't your router's address, and you never need to look for it in your TV's network settings.
Everything hangs on it: the playlists you add, the free trial, and the activation you buy. That's why each device has its own trial and its own activation.
What is the device key?
The device key is the 6-digit code shown next to the MAC address. Together they work like a username and password: anyone who wants to change the playlists on your TV needs both. Keep the key to yourself, and if you think someone else has it, contact support to have it reset.
Where to find them
- On OSM PLAYER's start screen, next to the QR code, as soon as the app opens.
- In the app's Settings, at any time.
- On this site, the MAC address is at the top of your device's page once you're signed in.
How the MAC address is used
- 1
Adding playlists
Sign in on Manage playlist with the MAC address and device key, or scan the QR code, which carries both.
- 2
Activating
On the activation page, enter the MAC address to see the device's status and activate it. A reseller or an activation code works the same way.

Getting help
When you contact us, the MAC address lets us find your device straight away.
Can the MAC address change?
Usually not. If you reinstall OSM PLAYER, the app normally recognises the device and keeps the same MAC address, playlists and activation. On some devices a reinstall or a reset produces a new one. If that happens to an activated device, send us the old and the new MAC address and we'll move your activation over.
You can't choose or edit the MAC address yourself, and tools that promise to generate or change an IPTV MAC address don't work with OSM PLAYER: the address comes from the app.
Is it safe to share my MAC address?
Sharing the MAC address alone is fine: it's what you give a reseller or our support to activate your device. Nobody can see or change your playlists on this site without the device key, and PIN-protected playlists also need their PIN.
